About Us
The Summit Baptist Association is made up of like-minded congregations from Carroll, Stark, Summit, Medina, and Portage counties. Our hope is to bring the greatest Kingdom impact by partnering in ministry together.
We hope to P.R.E.A.C.H.
Prioritize Prayer.
We are an association of praying congregations and not simply congregations that pray. We are made up of five counties in northeastern Ohio, but not limited to there when it comes to prayer.
We take each first Friday of the month to fast and pray for one another, our communities, our community leaders and other Christ-centered congregations for the greatest Kingdom impact.
Will you join us for praying Kingdom prayers for your lost community and community leaders? Will you join us in lifting up our country to the Creator of the universe in Jesus' name?
However, we also know that Matthew chapter 10 follows Matthew chapter 9. We must be obedient to the Great Commission and willing to be the workers in the field. We are always better together.

Resource, Reconnect, & Revitalize.
We provide resources to help congregations make the greatest Kingdom impact. We engage those congregations that have become disengaged over the years. We walk with pastors and churches in a process to health.
Engage, Encourage, & Equip.
We provide opportunities to network and build relationships. We offer coaching and training opportunities.
Assess & Assist.
We assess and assist pastors, leaders and their congregations back to health. We believe a healthy pastor is necessary for a healthy congregation.
Cooperation.
We financially, physically and spiritually cooperate in the great commission. We also celebrate successes and struggle in the trenches together. We identify and utilize GCB (Great Commission Baptist) partnerships regionally and internationally.
Help to Reach the Diaspora.
We strive to identify the people groups in our communities, to love them, and intentionally engage them with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Director
Mark Jones
Mark is our Association Director as of September 2023. Mark is the pastor of Freedom Hill Community Church in Stow and has over 20 years of experience in ministry to include church planting, association leadership in Northern Ohio, coaching and pastoring revitalization works. Mark also serves with the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio as their State Revitalization Consultant. Mark is a northeast Ohio native and has a heart for pastors and struggling congregations.
